The sign-up terms

• The R25 has to be used within 24 hours of your account going live, and bet in full at odds of 1.50 or higher.
• The 50 spins land the first time you log in and are worth 60c each. You can only play them on Habanero’s Hot Hot Hollywoodbets, Hot Hot Fruit and Rainbow Mania.
• You have a day to use the spins once you’ve claimed them.
• Spin winnings have to be wagered 10 times on the same three slots, and the most you can cash out is R600.
• You can claim without FICA, but nothing is paid out until Hollywoodbets has approved your documents.
• The offer is limited to one per person, household and IP address.

The spins in numbers

Fifty spins at 60c are R30 of play, and on average they win about R29. You then have to bet those winnings 10 times, roughly R290 in spins. Slots keep about R4 of every R100 you bet on average, so the wagering eats around R12 of the winnings. Plenty of runs of 50 spins win nothing at all.

Slots

Slots live under the Spina Zonke tab. When we opened it logged out in October, a row of 20 studio shortcuts ran across the top, from Pragmatic Play and Playtech to Light & Wonder and IGT, with filters below for Buy Feature, Megaways, High Volatility and High Roller games. Several tiles in the first row carried an “Exclusive” tag, including Games in Olympus, Pirots 4, The Goonies 2 and Duck Hunters 2. Jackpots and payout caps

Most of Hollywoodbets’ jackpots are prize pools rather than one huge progressive. The Holly Jackpot builds from a share of every qualifying bet, and in our lobby screenshot its weekly draw was set for 15 October. The general terms cap a single slot win at between R10 million and R40 million depending on the studio, and no player can be paid more than R30 million from casino games in one day.

Hollywoodbets’ terms list live games from Evolution, Ezugi, Pragmatic Play, Playtech and TVBet. Between them they cover roulette, blackjack and baccarat, plus Evolution’s game shows. Hollywoodbets’ deposit page lists 22 payment portals, so almost any bank, card or wallet works. Instant EFT through Ozow or Stitch starts at R1, and cards, Apple Pay and Capitec Pay at R10. Crypto starts at R100, with a R40,000 daily maximum. You can also pay with MTN MoMo, Flash Pay, a voucher or cash at a branch. Withdrawals are tighter.

The cash-send limits apply across all those options combined, so anything over a few thousand Rand is better sent by EFT. Each method’s own terms promise payment within 24 hours, but the general terms allow up to 72 hours for cash-send. ABSA doesn’t pay out between 20:00 and 06:00 (from 17:00 on Sundays), and Nedbank stops overnight on weekdays and from Saturday 13:30 until Monday morning. Every deposit, vouchers included, has to be played through once before you withdraw it, and Hollywoodbets can charge a fee on deposits and withdrawals at its discretion.

KYC verification
