What ZARbet’s terms say

• Enter ZARBET on the Bonus page within five minutes of your deposit, while at least 75% of it is still in your cash balance. If you bet the deposit first and claim afterwards, ZARbet voids any winnings from the bonus.
• The bonus money only plays on ZARbet Original games, ZARbet’s own in-house slots and tables. Bets on anything else come out of your cash balance, which ZARbet also uses up before the bonus.
• You have to bet 30 times the bonus amount, not the deposit. All your bets count, including cash bets on other games, except bets placed inside a slot’s bonus feature.
• Slots and keno count 100%, roulette and Three Card Poker 50%, baccarat 25%, video poker 10%, and blackjack and craps 5%.
• With a deposit of R1,000 or less, the most you can withdraw from the bonus is 10 times your deposit.
• When you withdraw, ZARbet deducts the bonus amount. You can only withdraw once from a bonus, and anything left on it afterwards is forfeited.
• No maximum bet for bonus play is published, so ask live chat before you raise your stakes.

Working out the cost of 30x

You have to bet the bonus 30 times before you can withdraw. ZARbet’s own example is a R1,000 deposit, which brings R2,000 in bonus money, so that’s R60,000 in bets. Slots keep about R4 of every R100 you bet on average, so that costs you around R2,400, more than the bonus is worth. ZARbet then deducts the R2,000 bonus when you withdraw, so only winnings above it become cash.

The bonus only pays off if a big win comes early, and then the 10x cap (R10,000 on a R1,000 deposit) sets the ceiling. World Sports Betting also asks 30x, while YesPlay asks 8x on a bonus that counts on every game it offers.

Average cost assumes every bet goes on slots that keep about R4 of every R100.

ZARbet’s own pages disagree on the cap for bigger deposits. The welcome offer page says deposits over R1,000 aren’t capped, but the general terms cap every deposit match at 10 times the deposit. The bonus stops growing at R1,000 anyway, so if you deposit more, ask support which rule applies.

Other promotions

ZARbet’s regular offers are mostly prize draws. Every Wednesday the Hump Day Bump matches a R100+ deposit 100% up to R2,000, under the same 30x and 10x rules as the welcome bonus. On Tuesdays you back one of two slots, and players get R100 in free spins on the winner. ZARbet needs these before it pays out.

1. A valid South African ID, driver’s licence (front and back), passport or temporary ID. ZARbet may also ask for a selfie holding it, or certified copies.
2. A recent utility bill with your name and address.
3. For foreign nationals, a passport and work permit. Asylum seekers also need a confirmation letter from a South African bank.

If ZARbet asks for documents during a withdrawal and they aren’t in within 14 days, the withdrawal goes back into your balance.

Complaints posted publicly fare worse. ZARbet replies to only 13% of negative HelloPeter reviews, after about a month on average. Its terms promise an answer to formal complaints within 28 days, and within 3 days for disputes about a bet.
